This week we are thinking about the word Understanding.

Sometimes things in life are hard to understand. We might find a subject at school hard to understand or rules we are given by grow ups that we do not like. When it comes to our faith, we might find it hard to understand all the bible stories or confusing that we believe in God but we cannot see him. Even if we don’t understand everything, all we need to do is put our faith in God and understand he will be there for us to guide us through and help us to understand.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

KS1

When we understand Jesus and learn about him our faith grows and we feel closer to him. Watch this video all about how our faith grows like a seed.

KS2

Check out this video about understanding faith and putting our trust in it.

Why not give it a go in your class today?

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

KS1/2

Watch this clip based on the bible passage of Jesus in the Temple as a little boy.

Afterwards, talk in class about how many people in that story came to understand Jesus better and how special he is. For example his mum and dad or the Jewish leaders? Who could you share this bible passage with? To help them understand Jesus better.

We end with the Sign of the Cross.

KS1/2

Turn the lights off and light a candle in your class room and get comfy, maybe close your eyes, lie on the floor or put your head on the table. Then listen to this worship song and all the special words in it. It talks about how wonderful Jesus is. Use this quiet time to come closer to Jesus and understand him. Once the song has finished share with each other what you thought about the song and any words that stood out to you.
