That was the mission for the children at English Martyrs this week – to follow and proclaim the truth. Mrs Pettifer’s Year 4’s led a beautiful Mass celebration for the class and their parents. They also celebrated the feast of Saint Rita of Cascia, a lady who had great faith even in adversity, and she is the patron Saint of the impossible. This provided us with a strong message of sticking with God right until the end, even when the road gets bumpy and we experience tough times.

Father Chris then expanded on that in his homily by saying that in order to stick with God right until the end, we need to be able to know the truth, follow the truth and tell other people about the truth. In order to fulfil this mission though, the children needed to go and tell the rest of the school all about the truth and being able to witness our faith through the truth.

The whole school gathered for a liturgy which was also led by Year 4, an absolutely fantastic effort by them all! The message of witnessing to the truth was repeated with hymns sung and prayers said.

Well done Year 4 and Mrs Pettifer for leading the school so beautifully in this time of prayer.
