Don’t Worry be Happy!

  • What do you worry about?
  • What worries you about what you worry about?

We are human, we worry about many different things and in today’s climate are probably worrying more so than we ever did.

Jesus spoke to His disciples about worry he said:

“This is why I tell you not to be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive, or about clothes for your body. After all, isn’t the body worth more than food? And isn’t the body worth more than clothes? Look at the birds: they do not sow seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your father in heaven takes care of them! Aren’t you worth much more than the birds? Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it?

(Matthew 6:25-27)

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

The simple answer is NO!

Not many of us though, let the above message get into our hearts and allow the love of God to free us from our habit of worrying.

The truth is no amount of worrying can change your situation; no amount of worrying can add a single moment to life.

Worrying robs us of joy, sleep, health, time and most importantly faith.

When we stop trying to do everything on our own, when we rely on Gods ability to take care of the situation, no matter what the circumstance or situation is, that is when the stress stops and the trusting in God starts, that’s when the peace of God calms us in the situation.

So, why don’t we just give it over to God and let Him deal with it?

Maybe because it is something, we need to learn to do more as it is not our natural choice.

We want to be in control, we want to appear strong, we want to get through it quickly, we want to be the master of our own destiny.

But life would be so much easier if we start to listen to the message more and learn to trust the God who loves, cares and provides for us.

We need to learn to trust God from the start, not just turn to Him as the last resort when we are exhausted.

Think about difficult situations you have experienced in your life, think about the problems you have faced, looking back can you see how faithful God was to you every time?  how He led you through, how He worked out His plan.

How blessing came amid the confusion and pain.

We know we cannot do it on our own!

No matter how many times we have tried, without Gods help, we cannot make it happen!

You know, if this life was always easy, there would be no place for faith.

If life were one mountain top experience after another, we would always feel like we could take care of everything on our own.

We need to put our faith and trust in God. Jesus said, “His yoke is easy, His burden is light.” We do know this, yet we can still choose to worry and stress ourselves out.

So, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.

Jesus makes it sound so simple!

God has made it easy for us, yet we choose to make it hard for ourselves.

Instead of seeking what God can do for you, we may find ourselves concentrating more on what we can do for ourselves.

Jesus’s command is to Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and in return he will give us everything we need.

I here you say yes that is easier said than done!

We don’t know the problems that’s going on in each other’s life, we don’t understand everyone’s situation, and your right we don’t but God does.

  • Seek God and His Righteousness
  • Have faith, He will take care of it for you!
  • Repeat steps 1 & 2 and trust God’s timing.

It is our human nature that we complicate things.

We always seem to try to make things harder than what they are.

We have Gods word, a word we can take hold of, stand on and believe that when He says it will happen, will happen!

God has plans for you

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29: 11-14)

God has plans for all of us. Notice it does not say plan, it says plans,

God has thought out multiple plans for you, multiple streams of blessings,

to provide you with hope and a future!

Nothing is too hard for Him, there is no situation, that He cannot turn around.

He is always working on your behalf, to turn things around for you.

God’s plans included:

  • Jesus’ sacrifice for you.
  • Jesus conquering the power of Sin in your life.
  • A way for you to be saved.

Trust in God!

Questions to consider:

  • Do you worry more than you trust?
  • Do you find little things seem like large problems?
  • If someone were to look at your life right now would they see a person of faith or a person of worry?
  • Do you have more worry than faith?
  • Will you stop worrying and trust God’s plans for you?
  • What is your need today, whatever it is, God is able!

Remember Jesus has already done everything that could be done, for us to receive blessing.

He has paid for our sins with His blood, provided for our healing with His body.

There is nothing that we will ever come up against in this life that He has not provided for!

He has abundantly provided and is a God of more than enough.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I may not understand how everything will work out

But I trust you.

I do not see a way, but I know you will make a way.

I have faith at this very moment you are touching hearts, opening doors and lining up the right breaks and opportunities.

Things may look dark and bleak now, but I have faith that my dawn is coming!

In Jesus’ name.

Amen
