A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans.

What it says is this: “God’s message is near you, on your lips and in your heart” – that is, the message of faith that we preach. If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

“We have courage in God’s presence, because we are sure that He hears us if we ask Him for anything that is according to His will. He hears us whenever we ask Him; and since we know this is true, we know also that He gives us what we ask from Him.”

(1 John 5:14-15)

I was sincere in learning from her, and now I am glad to share what I learned. No one can ever exhaust the treasures of Wisdom. Use those treasures and you are God’s friends; He approves of what you learn from her

The Word of the Lord.

THE WORD:

“And I am not saying this because I feel neglected, for I have learned to be satisfied with what I have. I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learned this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content, whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or too little. I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.”

(Philippians 4:11-13)

THE THOUGHT:

I will thrive no matter what happens.

Father,

help me not to be slow to follow the truth;

A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans.

Since we have died with Christ, we believe that we also live with Him. For we know that Christ has been raised from death and will never die again – death will no longer rule over Him. And so, because He died, sin has no power over Him; and now He lives His life in fellowship with God.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

A reading from the letter of Saint John.

For our love for God means that we obey His commands. And His commands are not too hard for us, because every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith. Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
