This week is enrichment week! Our theme this this week is “Imagine” and that gives us a lot to think about in our form time acts of worship. Imagination, the ability to create and inspire, is a gift from God. We were made in his image and like him we have the ability shape our world and create a better future for each other.

What’s the best idea you’ve had today?

Father, give us faith
And help us to appreciate the things we cannot see.
Inspire in us not just a faith in you, but a faith in our family, our friends and ourselves.
Thank you for the strength that comes from your love;
Help me, when I am at my weakest, to find my faith again. Amen.

Imagination leads to creation. God created the world and imagined all the beauty and wonder and complexity that we sometimes take for granted. This clip always reminds me of God sharing his creation with us and how we sometimes view it with excitement and wonder and sometimes we just view it as something to use as we want to take as much of it as possible.

Think about what you can create today and think about how you can use your imagination to make the most of God’s Creation.

Morning Prayer: Lord, help us to make the most of your creation. Amen.

Prayer at the end of the day

How have you made the most of your day?

Father, give us faith
And help us to appreciate the things we cannot see.
Inspire in us not just a faith in you, but a faith in our family, our friends and ourselves.
Thank you for the strength that comes from your love;
Help me, when I am at my weakest, to find my faith again. Amen.

Thursday

We Start with the Sign of the Cross

Being a hero is not something every can do. Or is it?

This week we’ve been looking at what it really means to be a hero. There is one person who demonstrates just want it meant to be a hero in the way he lived his life. He came from the heavens and inspired the world to try and make more of them selves. He was rejected by society and cast out for trying to do good. He had to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the people he loved.

Who is that a description of?

Watch this video and then watch the video again but with your eyes closed. Who could the voice over be describing?

In a lot of hero stories there are more than a few similarities to the story of Jesus.

When you’re looking for a hero it might be a good place to start.

Morning Prayer: Lord, help us to find the hero inside of us. Amen.

Prayer at the end of the day

Has some one been a hero for you today?

Father, give us faith
And help us to appreciate the things we cannot see.
Inspire in us not just a faith in you, but a faith in our family, our friends and ourselves.
Thank you for the strength that comes from your love;
Help me, when I am at my weakest, to find my faith again. Amen.

Friday

We Start with the Sign of the Cross

The piece of scripture for today is one of the most famous of them all. Its the very first words we find in the bible. The story of creation helps us understand about the nature of God.

“He saw that it was good”

To look at something we create and then to give it to someone else takes a great deal of love for the person or people we give it to.

Think about the last time you made something and who you made it for, how did it make you feel – how did it make them feel?

Reading the story of creation makes us think about how we treat and use God’s creation – do we make the most of the gift that we’ve been given?

Genesis 1

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Morning Prayer: Lord, help to make the most of the gift that you’ve given us. Amen.

Prayer at the end of the day

Have you made something for someone today?

Father, give us faith
And help us to appreciate the things we cannot see.
Inspire in us not just a faith in you, but a faith in our family, our friends and ourselves.
Thank you for the strength that comes from your love;
Help me, when I am at my weakest, to find my faith again. Amen.
