This week, perhaps appropriately, it’s about change. In a week that seen one of the biggest decisions, and changes in our lifetime we are called to reflect on how change is actually part of everyday life. We all change and the world changes around us, and it is in these times that we need to hold on to the things that don’t if we are to make any sense of it!

Our faith like our our God never changes. God is the one unchanging constant in a world full of change – so what is God calling us to do at this time of change and uncertainty?

Maybe he’s calling us to come together to face the changes ahead, maybe he’s calling us to reflect on the impact of our decisions or maybe he’s calling each and everyone one of us to a special vocation to change this world into one that reflects the kingdom of heaven.

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

hands-votingTalk in pairs about a change you can make to form time for the year ahead. It could be a seating arrangement, it could be doing the prayer resources more regularly, it could just be changing the posters on your door because they’ve been there for a while!

When you’ve got some suggestions out them to a vote (it seems like the way to handle big decisions!) decide on your change and then make it.

Put your change in the comments box so other forms can see what you’re doing!

Lord, give us the courage to change. Amen.

SorryTemplate2AskingTemplateToday is our whole school mass – it’s really exciting! When ever we come together we pray for the whole community, but the really special thing about today is that the whole community will be there. With that in mind, we want as many people to be involved as possible.

You may even be able to see the team setting out the chairs in the plaza right now (go on look out the window!)

In our celebration today there will be 2 types of prayers, penitential (sorry) prayers and asking (bidding) prayers. We want you to write them right now! Have a think about what you want to pray for and write it in the comments box we will then collate them and pray them with everybody later today.

Lord, help us know you are there when we pray. Amen.

NEXT STEPSWe begin with the Sign of the Cross

As you know, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. If you are in KS 3/4 You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.

This year we want to bring the Word of God to life on a Friday morning to help us reflect and understand scripture a little bit better, so with the help of our school community a different person each week will read our Gospel and share what it means to them.

Use your planners to help you discuss and explore the story further.

Lord, help us to listen to and follow your word. Amen.
