JOYIt’s the last week of term and the third week of Advent! The third week of Advent traditionally encourages us to to reflect on the Joy that Christmas brings and the Joy that Mary experienced when she was chosen to be the Mother of God.

It’s also a chance to celebrate all that this term is about and the coming of Jesus at Christmas!

Monday

We Start with the Sign of the Cross.

So today is the next instalment of the “Question of the day with A&J.” Have a think about the following question and talk it through as a class.

If the video is not working – I know we are still having YouTube issues – then the question of the day is: What brings you Joy?

Lord, thank you for the good things in our lives. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

Prayer at the end of the day

We Start with the Sign of the Cross.

Has something brought you joy today?

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

Tuesday

We Start with the Sign of the Cross.

There’s something about this time of year that inspires us to be the best people we can be. It’s often because people are simply happier! When we’re happy we can’t help but want others to be happy too.

Look out in the video for the line “It’s the season when the saints can employ us, to spread the news about peace and to keep love alive”

Write in the comment box what that means for us!

As this is kind of the last day before we celebrate the end of term, it’s probably a good time remember what this whole advent thing is all about. This video from the De La Salle brothers does a pretty good job of explaining everything so if you’ve missed anything these last few weeks let’s take one last opportunity remember what Advent really is all about!
