This week marks the second week of Advent already! The theme for the second week of Advent, and for our word of the week, is PEACE. There are lots of people around the world trying to promote peace and harmony in many different ways, and this week we’ll look at some of them and what they do.

Today we’re going to take some time out and try and find some peace in our own lives.

“Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Play the video below and listen to the music. Either close your eyes or look at the lyrics and spend some time in quiet prayer and thought.

Comment below ways that we can find moments of peace in our own daily lives.

Today is a bit different. All you need to do is spend five or so minutes in silence. This can be really hard, and after the first two minutes it’s tempting to laugh and be uncomfortable. But sometimes, to find true peace, we need the silent time to just be within ourselves. If you have time, challenge yourselves and just see how long you can be silent and unmoving. Whilst being silent, take some time to pray about peace both within yourself and around the world.

As always we take time in our week to listen to Sunday’s Gospel. This week it’s Frances, one of the school chaplains from Trinity, who’s reading it to us!
