This week we are thinking about the word decisions. A decision is when we have to make a choices and as we get older we have more decisions to make. Sometimes they might be tricky and we might have to think hard about them before we make the choice, but we know that whatever decision we make God will be there every step of the way.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

KS1
Take a look at this video. When we make the right decisions we often feel good like we are getting a reward. It may not be something we enjoy to eat, but we will feel good in our heart and God will also know. Think about some good choices you have made and share them with the class.
KS2
Check out this video from Kid President and then have a think about some tough decisions you have had to make. Talk about them with your class and see if they are similar.

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 10:38-42

Glory to you O Lord.

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has made the good choice, which will not be taken away from her.”

The Gospel of the Lord

Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

In this bible passage we hear about Mary and Martha, they both make different decisions when spending time with Jesus. What decision would you make if Jesus came to your house? Draw a picture of you in your house talking with Jesus.

When we need to make a decision, it is good to feel calm and relaxed, it helps us to not feel stressed or worried about the choices we need to make. It is important to take a moment to be still and let God speak to us and guide us.

Get you self in a comfy position and listen to this Mindfulness Meditation. Breath….. and offer your tricky decisions to God.

In the clip below Anna must make a choice, save herself and go to Kristoff or save her sister instead. Watch the clip to see what happens.

KS1
Talk about how this was a hard decision to make and why you think she made it.
KS2
Imagine that you had to make the same decision. What thoughts would have been running through Anna’s head? Why would the decision be difficult? Maybe write a paragraph explaining the thoughts running through Anna’s head when she had to make the decision.
