The word of the week is Awesome and it’s our final week of the academic year!

Awe and wonder is an amazing gift of the Holy Spirit! It’s ability to see the incredible things God has created and not take them for granted. How easy is it for us to get bored and stop appreciating how lucky we are to have a beautiful world, an amazing school and people who love us?

This week reflect on those those things that are awesome in your life that you don’t always fully appreciate and give thanks to God!

Click on the different tabs below to explore this week’s prayer resources. We hope you have a great week!

Let us pray…

God of our Longing

God of our longing
hear our prayers,
protect our dreams,
and listen to our silent hopes.

Deal gently with our pain,
speak to our sadness
and remove the barriers
that imprison our spirit.

Shed your light
where shadows are cast,
that we may feel your warmth
and know your presence.

Give us courage
to hold fast to our vision
that we may build our world
and create our future.

Amen.

We start our prayer with the sign of the cross…

The final ‘word of the week’ video of this academic year is presented to us by some of the lovely Chaplaincy Team at Blessed Robert Widmerpool Primary School!

As you watch the video, reflect on the things that you find awesome or have really appreciated during recent times.

As the mission says, think about someone who you think is awesome and say a prayer for them today. Maybe you could show them you are grateful for them by saying thank you to them in person or by sending them a message to brighten their day.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the people who look after us, keep us safe, help us learn and make us laugh.

Thank you for our education, everyone who works in our community and all the opportunities we have access to.

Thank you for the beautiful nature we have around us and are able to enjoy.

Help us to see, appreciate and look after the awesome things you have created.

Amen

In the comments box below, write a list of 10 things you think are awesome and that you appreciate…

“Making sense of it all”

We try to make sense of the issues affecting our world by turning to our faith.

In the last episode of the series we look at what we can be grateful for, what we have learned and how our faith can help us move forward.

We start our prayer with the sign of the cross…

As it tells us in the scriptures, each of us are made in God’s own image.

So God created human beings, making them to be like himself. He created them male and female,

God looked at everything he had made, and he was very pleased. Evening passed and morning came—that was the sixth day.

Genesis 1: 27, 31

The song below is called ‘Our God’ it celebrates how awesome our God is and as we celebrate we should also celebrate how awesome we are!

Your challenge today is to write an affirmation to someone who has made a big positive difference to your year. This could be a friend, someone in your form, a teacher or staff member or a person in your family.

If you are affirming someone you are giving them positive, kind and encouraging words.

Think about why this person is awesome and why they have made a difference to your year. In your affirmation to this person you could tell them why you are thankful for them, what you love about them or maybe you could give them some encouraging words for their future.

Remember to use positive words that will build people up and celebrate their awesomeness!

Let us pray…

Lord we thank you for the friends, family and staff that we have shared our year with.

Thank you for all of the awesome qualities you have given to us.

Help us to use our gifts and talents to make a positive difference to the people and world around us.

Amen.

Morning everyone, happy Friday! 🙂

We start our prayer with the Sign of the Cross…

Our school is full of Awesome people!

Whether it’s our classmates, our teachers, our clergy or all of the other staff that support us and keep the school going everyday. There are so many people who we have to thank because, without them, we wouldn’t have the same school experiences or learning opportunities that we have had during this strange and life changing year.
