As a school we have a lot to be proud of. We have awesome young people, amazing staff and lots of opportunities to make the most of during our time at The Becket. All these things are gifts from God and all these things need to be shared with the world around us. This week’s ‘Word of the Week’ is: Proud, and it’s not about showing off, but about recognising what is brilliant about ourselves and sharing that with others. St Irenaeus said the “The Glory of God is a human being fully alive” and when we are happy and successful we show that glory to others.
What have you got to be proud about? Everyone is school is capable of amazing things and we should recognise them in others and in ourselves.
(Don’t forget Thursday’s is still PSHCE so check that out at the bottom of the page too!)
The ‘Word of the Week’
Over the week give each person a chance to vote and then on Friday have a look at the results!
What makes you proud to be part of a Catholic School?
Each day you’ll be able to see what other people are thinking in the other forms and have a chance to respond with your thoughts/comments. Come back to the discussion each morning if you can!
Watch this – What does it make you feel?
Each day when you’ve finished your discussion/activities spend a few moments in silence to think about the day ahead.
If anybody has anything or anyone they would like to pray for then don’t be afraid to share this with everyone before your end your form time AoW.
You might even want to create a prayer box that you can put intentions into each week if you don’t feel like saying it out loud.
We begin with the Sign of the Cross
This week use the Key Process of “Put Yourself On The Line” to debate the following statement:
Being proud is just showing off and we shouldn’t do it.
Lord, help us to remember that all good things come from you. Amen.
We finish with the Sign of the Cross
